Radix-Glass Large

With the Radix-Glass you can grow flower bulbs and vegetable tubers in water while observing both the plant’s development and the formation of its root system. A narrowing in the neck of the vase creates a small platform on which the bulb or tuber rests, suspended above the water without direct contact.

The Radix-Glass Large is particularly well suited for growing amaryllis, allowing the plant to unfold its impressive blooms. It also works very well with beetroot, kohlrabi or celeriac. The included Adapter for tubers provides support for bulbs or tubers that are too small to rest on the opening, such as certain begonia varieties. With a little care in arranging, it can also help bring the delicate grape hyacinths into bloom.

Collected experience, helpful tips and detailed instructions for growing these and other plants in the Radix-Glass can be found in the Brochure Radix supplied with each Radix-Glass.

A trailing begonia tuber is currently included with the Radix Glass Large and can be started immediately upon arrival.

Please note that tubers of the trailing begonia are perishable. After receiving them, remove the tuber from its packaging and ideally start it immediately. If that is not possible, store it in a cool, dark place (not in the refrigerator, which is too cold). Long-term storage is not recommended, as it reduces germination viability.
We take care to ship only healthy, viable tubers. We take great care to ensure that only healthy bulbs are shipped.

We recommend specifying your preferred delivery date in the order form, especially if the item is intended as a gift.
